That feels destined for a simple portjob to fill a significant release gap in FE's schedule. I'm not sure what you would even do with an Awakening remake. The obvious making the maps good would be so resource intensive that you'd practically be remaking every single map from scratch. Might as well just make a new game. I guess they could canonize and pull from all the supplementary material that has come out for it since like the drama CDs and Heroes. The shipper in me wonders if they would lean into certain pairings. Chrobin has remained the most popular pair after all this time and they've explored it a bit more in stuff like Heroes and Cipher. Personally I think trying to combine FE 6 and 7 into one cohesive monster game would be more fun for a remake. Especially if they add a way to have the paired endings you end up with in 7 affect units in 6.

The games ain't hard, anon. So you can keep saying "skill issue," but these are just my honest observations. Love the tunes, the art, the dungeons. Hate the actual shit fucking gameplay of spamming the same move combos on trash mobs the entire game until a shortcut is found or a section is mapped, then warping back to town (because it's faster), then going over the same pathways again and fighting the same shitter mobs.
Something like Lost Shinjuku will have you going through certain parts 20+ times, unavoidably, if you're trying to 100% map it.

>IS clearly likes the idea of having low level units who join late but have a potential "payoff" for training them.
Because it's just not true. It's wishful thinking imposed upon the game design by a player base eager to see patterns in the grass. To the point that you're claiming Sophia is "supposed" to be an Est while acknowledging she fails to meet a key condition of an Est (great growths). It's loony. If there is no Est, players will make one up. If they can't make one up, they'll supply an explanation, a mitigating factor. Instead of accepting it's just not a real, intentional thing.

Same deal with the Oifey. Not real. Jagen is, not Oifey.
