Word you're looking for is system seller or killer app. Sony's 1st party development pipeline has been fucked hard by Hermen (Netherlands retard) and Jim Ryan (UK retard), they haven't put out a new Gran Turismo/God of War/Uncharted so they pretty much have a dry spell. In addition the bulk of their recent purchase studios like Bungie are on a live service decline with cancellations. Sony is fucked but the extent of the damage, if it can be fixed, is unknown. Have their studios been ravaged by VR, live service distractions, and movie walking games to the extent they can't recover? Unknown.
Xbox's is easy. They have viciously destroyed their IPs. Halo Infinite was supposed to be a landmark title that would have like 10 years of content, including main story DLC episodes. The game dropped dead after it's free to play multiplayer season dried up and they fired top dogs of 343 Studios and rebranded them as Halo Studio. Forza's primary studio for Motorsports was gutted, with Horizon studios being left alone. Gears of War is no longer synonymous with the Xbox brand and horde was the big multiplayer component of its era, but they are irrelevant. The series is undergoing a brand reboot, which includes releasing Gears of War on Playstation 5 which is insane brand suicide. The other games on your Xbox list are either cancelled or in 9 years of development: Fable reboot and State of Decay 3 are 8+ years dev hell games. Project Perfect Dark reboot was cancelled after 5-6 years of development. Ninja Gaiden 4 was obviously primed to be an exclusive that's multiplatform, that looks like the only game to keep an eye out from Xbox in the future. The South of Midnight studio is allegedly closing if it hasn't been official, because it was just another churning wage slave game for GamePass rent DRM.
Nintendo has a really weak Switch 2 1st year. But they don't feel threatened in the way Sony/Xbox are due to having their own lane in the game industry.
