>>714493340Going off memory. The first reboot after the quadrilogy was the Angel of Darkness bit on the PS2 which was an omega failure, the franchise slowed down here. Then Tomb Raider Legends happened which was the 2nd reboot in the mid 2000s and it brought the franchise back from irrelevancy, followed by Underworld era on PS3 and Xbox 360. The third and last reboot was Tomb Raider 2013. Out of all of those the initial era got 2 movies and then the final reboot got one last movie (which came out many years late with an ugly Lara actress). Taking the franchise as a whole not just games, it is wild how far from mainstream Tomb Raider got. That's what saddens me, ya know. Tomb Raider was on normies magazines and television ads and even live action Hollywood movies.
The last movie casting was a joke. Of the final reboot trilogy I've only played 2013 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, while I found writing to be mediocre/serviceable at best, they definitely had a gameplay loop to establish themselves in a new lane away from Uncharted. I don't trust zoomers with the IP so this rumored Tomb Raider game in India that's open world, good luck but I'm out. I can't imagine how ugly she'll look nowadays.
