I actually like the track pants and sneakers. Her design is far and away the least of her problems, it's pretty good. The biggest issue is that Gronbekk is just a middling, uninspiring writer and instead of focusing on Maka as a character and how she interacts with her supporting characters (which should just be the karate lolis) it's just nonstop villain fights. There's no balance at all. Maka shouldn't have her family, she should have just been taken in by Beba's or Caroline's or something because her mother and aunt and grandmother overcrowd the book and aren't interesting. Also really her mother being around makes everything in Spider-Boy make no sense.
