I'm 1991 and I grew up on old cartoons. In general I love animation. I also love the band The Aquabats which are heavily inspired by retro comics popcultre and retro Japanese media. When I was a teen a few of my friends collected pins and we had a little contest over who had and could wear the most. Plus as someone who used to collect pokemon cards I have a soft spot for the atheistic of just having a ton of crap.
Since I'm starting back up I have kind of been just buying whatever catches my eye, but I also am usually stoned off my ass when I go to cons so my self control is usually pretty weak. That def just has stuff more "just cuz" and trying to fit the general aesthetic of the Aquabats. I just need to branch and currate once I get a bigger collection.
