You can tell something is up because there is no mention at all of blacks in antiquity. No Roman or Greek sources, no legends. Nothing. There aren't even medieval mentions.
They first appear in London in I think the 1530s as an object of intense curiosity brought back by sailors. This in one of the world's most important ports and well connected cities where every nationality was long known amd hundreds of years after the first Jews.
My guess is they are what the Golem legend is about and are the result of a slave/weapon breeding program by post-temple quasi-Jews of the 15th Century. Part ape, part Jew. The Blacks themselves also do claim the similar, saying they are the real Jews. From Nigeria to Zimbabwe. Descended from, at least.
Not totally correct to equate a Middle Ages proto-Jew with them today. Much less culturally and ethnically distinct then and non-Christian scripture was not written down and became the Talmud much later.
