Ancient Egypt is more in popular conscious because when the Islamic hordes swept across North Africa they wiped out all the natives and their histories. It took white archaeologists to learn the varied and fascinating history of Ancient Egypt. This was in the 1800s, far after Islam fell out of any sort of global relevance. Plus the Arabic hordes who initially spread Islam have no real culture, being an ex-nomadic trading culture that dealt in gold, slaves and violence exclusively. That's why most Muslim representation is Persian, a far more complex culture and people.

I've been skimming Custom40k and it seems to be the more interesting system. Alternating Activation on its own is nothing special, but the facedown order mechanic is fun, reminds me of the standalone Apocalypse ruleset GW released in 2018. Hoping to give it a try, but as a Necronfag the reanimation mechanic seems a little wonky but I'm gonna give it a try

The fact that its a system powered by German autism gives me hope.
