the thing with octavia is that she is lonely, has pretty much no friends and, up until recently, only really connected with her dad
her mother is apathetic to her, probably only caring as much as she needs to for societal reasons, seeing her as her ”duty”, but not really her daughter
stolas, on the other hand, does genuinely love her, but he is a shortsighted, impulsive and extremely selfish man. He was willing to die for his lover without a second thought for octavia, not because he wanted to save blitzo, but because he couldnt bare the thought of having to live without him
octavia needs to realize these things and either accept her dad for how he is or just cut him out of her life completely
if she were more emotionally mature she would have probably packed her bags and ran off to the human world as soon as her flamboyant uncle moved in
she definitely needs some more people in her life, not necessarily a lover, but some good friends would help

stella would hate him, at first, but i think shed come around once she sees how happy her daughter really is with him and after he actually listens to her vent for a bit and gives his sympathies
stolas would like him and see him as a good thing in his daughters life, but depending on the ending he d react differently
in E1 hed attack him and punch him or claw him, since he cant do much else
in E2 hed be disappointed in his failure and offer to send him back home, definitively
in E3 he would be a bit miffed that hes essentially stolen his daughter from him
in E4 hed be ecstatic that the two of them make such a cute couple and would dote over any kids they might have
