This is so pathetic and gratuitious.

Nobody does this for any starter, it is ALWAYS the Typhlosion line that has to put up with this.

You think Typhlosion has no fans? It scored 15th in the most popular Johto Pokémon 2021 polls. It is a very popular Pokémon that had its reputation ruined due to a stupid Twitter joke that dumb people still think it is funny.

The Johto fire starter is not Tepig, it is Cyndaquil.

He is NOT in two starter trios. He is in only ONE.

Doesn't even fit the style of Johto, it is not Sugimori's art. The fucking pig looks like a cosplayer.

Totodile and Chikorita look so minimalistic. Then there is this overdesigned ugly pig that looks like a Fakemon that'd better fit palworld crowding the picture.

Nintendo has a right to defend its creations.

If you demonize Nintendo for being offended by blatant asset flipping that borders on criminal plagiarism, in a country where plagiarism isn't even punished with jail and can only land you financial penalties, you are just bigoted.

A lot of people bought Palworld just to spite Nintendo and Gamefreak. This is the truth you guys despise. So even the most blatant and obvious plagiarism is just broomed under the rug while the devs of Palworld cry crocodile tears about how they are depressed and overwhelmed, and complaining about having to remove already implemented features of their game due to lawsuits.

You want to make a monster catcher? Fine. But do it without stealing ideas. If it is too hard for you, you shouldn't be in the industry.

Nintendo is old money, a Zaibatsu giant from a dystopic nation where business is funded with endless government money printing after the 90s crash. If you are ever shocked that a japanese company puts out mediocre products but have a sinister control over the market thanks to an army of lawyers, hooligan consumers and despite awful marketing, it is because they are not truly operating in the market. They are too big to fail, and the government yearly prints out a lot of new yen just so banks are leveraged enough to refinance the debt of the Zaibatsus and keep them alive and well. If Nintendo truly competed in the market, they'd easily be outskilled.

Their best games (Xenoblade) are made by third-party studios. Both recent Zeldas were mediocre Ubisoft game with even worse combat. Mario's potential was wasted on being babified. Pokémon / GameFreak is a disaster that does not require explanations.

If Nintendo truly needed to sell consoles and games, they'd be far better marketed and far more competitive. The post-2008 Nintendo quickly lost its edge because it does not need to innovate anymore. It is not operating in the market anymore.

For them, it is easier to cripple the entire industry as a whole using their money and connections than put out a new game. Crippling Palworld won't make the next Pokémon less of a disappointment or make it sell more. They need to cripple Palworld (and the entire monster-catching genre) because it showed how easy it is to outskill them.
