Honestly yeah it really is looking like it. Hell America was founded on the ideals of enlightenment which, despite kvetching and trying to claim otherwise, was just mostly Christian morals which allowed it to exist side by side with Christianity.
However, during the 00s the New Atheism did a really "good" job at pushing Christianity out of the public and well guess what the ideals of enlightenment were gone in a flash.
