depends on how "fantasy" your setting is. Dynasty Warriors has amazing spear movesets, but they're completely over the top. For more grounded fantasy, I guess try and get the feel of "300" but ramp it up as far as you can go with it while keeping it within the grounds of reality.
Something that I don't think any 1st/3rd person does is making spears interesting by combining it good shield play. Dragon's Dogma 2 has really fun shield play as a fighter, but he can only use a sword with it.
