"potential" isn't a meme. I can see it. Feel it. Just give the game:-
>hard mode & NG+ scaling
>better enemy variety
>better rewards for exploration
>replace static enemy spawns with dynamic enemy spawns and let enemies/creatures roam more
>a couple more vocations and a few more skills for each vocation
>open up the few blocked gateways as end-game dungeons
>the blatantly cut story is probably beyond fixing, so leave it and just improve gameplay

Don't even need a new landmass. Just do the above to complete the base game in a way it should've been at release, and call it a day. This would fix most of the valid complaints outside of the disjointed story, but the story has always been secondary so it's a loss the game can bare.
