I think this is a better explanation than Saturn's rings touching Earth BUT someone really building a seaworthy boat inland and saving his family and all the animals. A wooden boat of that size would fall to pieces. It would need untold tons of nails and tar too and still break up under its own weight. The cosmological explanation of an arc from a planet travelling behind rings also left by the flood I think fits better.

Saturn's rings have been shown to be ordinary water since spectral analysis in the 1960s. No sample yet confirming them to be literally salty sea water but IMO they would be.
