It's insane how popular American football is in the USA proper. It's our juggernaut sport and it's not close. Basketball is a distant second if anything, baseball may be better than basketball these days.

Anybody who thinks it will ever be in "the script" for the Cowboys to make it to the Owl as long as Goodell is in charge doesn't know what they're talking about. Goodell fucking despises Dallas. One reason for this is that he's a Giants fanboy because John Mara is one of his mentors and helped him climb the ranks in the league office when he was starting out. Another reason is he's still pissed at Jerry for the scam he tried to pull when Dallas hosted the Super Bowl in 2011, when Jerry tried to sell seats in Jerryworld that didn't actually exist.

By the way, this is why the Cowboys will sometimes be called for penalties you've never heard of. At least once a season some bizarre penalty from deep in the rulebook will be called on Dallas specificially to fuck them over, and that's because the refs have orders from Goodell to screw over the Cowboys. Not only will the league never rig things in their favor, the league actively rigs things against them, and will as long as Goodell is in charge.
