I joined a guild called Lightforged a while back, and I hit it off with our tank, a warrior named BrutalMight. He told me his real name was Derek, and I noticed he had the same casual, commanding vibe as my wife’s guy.

We talked more, and after some time, I made an offer. I told him about my wife, how she might enjoy his company. I figured a guy who could keep the whole raid together could handle other things too.

Turns out, he was the same Derek. We both kind of laughed about it—how small the world could be, even in Azeroth. It was strange, but we kept raiding together. He became more than just a guildmate. He took on a new role, both in-game and out. And somehow, in both realms, I found my place.
