I agree, helluva war. There are plenty of systems to run games in this period; 17th Century Gothic, Honor + Intrigue, LOTFP has some modules set in this Tudor England and the Civil war (in fact the default setting is England around that era), Alatrists (set mostly in Spain), 7th Sea to some extent, En Garde!, Regime Diabolique, etc. And of course you can adapt other systems to that.

Yeah Age of Sail and gunpowder in general is massively underrated and overlooked. Ido think that running a game in that era will end up with GMs having to sacrifice some historical accuracy at some point, not to mention some asshole company will make a disclaimer about how horrible colonialism was, mocking Western notions of heroism and how enlightened these Indians were until these horrible White people cursed them with running water.
