BPD is a mental illness normally caused by some kind of past trauma and not so much something you're born with. Part of why it's so hard to treat is because (You), not anyone else, have to be proactively aware of your poor coping mechanisms and adjustaccordingly. Which is hard, because you have to find a way to let go of the pain without the expectation of catharsis. Which I imagine is like walking on egg shells around your own self with no breaks.
