>No reason to pay a markup because the label says "for miniatures"
There are exceptions to every rule, anon. A can of Retributor Armour can mean the difference between "Dante and his Sanguinary Guard are finished" and months of aggravation.

There is a special place in the Eye of Terror, though, for the guy who decided that Sanguinary Guard should now be on 40mm bases instead of 32s.

>do you just use them by themselves and don't by other paints?
I followed our Black Templar lad's recipe for black armour for Lemartes here, and then shortly after that repeated it for the Death Company he leads. On top of an undercoat of Ace Hardware Gray Spray Primer, I used Black Legion Contrast Paint coated with Nuln Oil. That makes for a really smooth satisfying start to black armour.

Can you paint just (or mostly) with Contrast paints? Probably, but it might not give you the results you crave.

It's vitally importantly to learn what the different Contrast paints do before you slather them all over your models. For example, you might think that both Blood Angels Red and Baal Red would be equally suitable for painting red Blood Angels. They produce distinctly different effects, however, and - again - might not give you what you were looking for.

Huh. Guess we need a new thread soon.
