ah yes, because (You) in the enlightened time of Current Year definitely know the exact series of traits required of all humans to make them the most fit forever, moreso than every other person throughout all of human history which had the exact same notion to match their society's standards. Clearly your specific idea for a peak human that happens to match specific circumstances local entirely to your exact timeframe and locale are going to be the template to conquer all scenarios forever into the future, and no one will ever think any choice you made was fucking retarded a few years later.

I love them. I love collecting and raising monsters. I try to 100% games before I move on though so I haven't played as many as I would like.

Digimon is great and has a lot of variety. This can make it kind of unfocused at times as a series, but it does the things that everybody wishing Pokemon would do. It experiments and changes up the formula with all the pros and cons that comes with that. Also really cool settings.

SMT is really cool for how it uses real world influence without compromise. Many things will reference mythology, SMT bold face has Thor nuke Japan. It makes the games downright educational about world religions and myths. And the topics and philosophies that the stories tackle aren't something many series dare to tread, combined with a focus on unique style, make really memorable games.

I'm gonna humor your as it seems like an interesting puzzle from a game design perspective.

First of all, Persona's calender and social link system are majorly linked to the themes and setting. They work as gameplay elements because in the lore the Persona are fragments of your mind/soul, each 'type' is tied to a part of your identity, and your identity is reinforced by those uou associate with. This is what Social Links are, improving your relationship with specific people is 'training' to thinking with a certain mindset and that mindset improves your ability to express these persona. Hanging out with the goody two shoes makes you better with judgemental angels, the scummy salesman makes you better with deal making devils, the student council presidents make you better with the leadership of emperors and empresses, etc. The challenge of course comes from the fact that all social relationships require maintenance and you only have so much time in your life to hang out with so many people. So you have to choose who you are going to prioritize because you can't be best friends with everybody (unless you do a semi psychotic max social links run by planning out your entire year in advanced).

This does not translate smoothly to Pokemon, as pokemon are individual creatures with their own personality. It would require tweaks to the system, which I'll brainstorm next post.
