I'm gonna humor your as it seems like an interesting puzzle from a game design perspective.
First of all, Persona's calender and social link system are majorly linked to the themes and setting. They work as gameplay elements because in the lore the Persona are fragments of your mind/soul, each 'type' is tied to a part of your identity, and your identity is reinforced by those uou associate with. This is what Social Links are, improving your relationship with specific people is 'training' to thinking with a certain mindset and that mindset improves your ability to express these persona. Hanging out with the goody two shoes makes you better with judgemental angels, the scummy salesman makes you better with deal making devils, the student council presidents make you better with the leadership of emperors and empresses, etc. The challenge of course comes from the fact that all social relationships require maintenance and you only have so much time in your life to hang out with so many people. So you have to choose who you are going to prioritize because you can't be best friends with everybody (unless you do a semi psychotic max social links run by planning out your entire year in advanced).
This does not translate smoothly to Pokemon, as pokemon are individual creatures with their own personality. It would require tweaks to the system, which I'll brainstorm next post.
