He was kinda funny at times, like a character trying his hardest to be a good devil hunter but ultimately getting played by more experient hunters like Denji or big devils like Death.
Ultimately a meh character that amounted to anything.
All he ever really did in the story was be le smirking mysterious man.

We didn't see his backstory, what is his true relationship with Kishibe, his goals and motivations, nothing.
The best Fujimoto could come up with was some off-screen schizo babble that barely makes sense.
I had much bigger expectations for him
