i work in property maintenance/construction
farm labor is seasonal and low paying $15/hr
but there are high-end gardeners that do maintain large gardens and are out there in the heat, but they make $40-$50/hour and take care of the whole garden all year
i also live in a wealthy state, so these wages are probably higher than the average state
there are landscapers that make $70,000/year and a full-tenured professor, head of an entire department (in a hard science field) makes about $90,000/yr in my state, not much of a difference for the big difference in the level of complexity
money is almost no longer indicative of skill, its value has been destroyed in the US thanks to QE and egregious market rigging
it has been mostly given to people producing nothing since 2008
