Character design, or art design in general really is a lost art at this point. Simple is best, and modern artists are mostly incapable, unwilling or not allowed to make it work.

Tell me about it. Some days I get (for my standards) really good runs going, then I get garbage after garbage, getting super frustrated. It's like playing a modern MP game, or even worse WoT/WT.
