You need him for maximum Lupa enjoyment though.

You may not like it but this is by far the funnest team in the game

One thing I haven't heard about the fusion team is how with all the other subs make the team grounded. With the prime team you can spend most of your time either in the air or unloading your damage. Being able to say in the air doesn't seem like much but it does help a lot in fights since you can worry less about what the boss is doing and the ones that move around a lot are less of a problem
