Mr. Anon, I'm afraid you're mistaken. That's quite the strawman of what I actually believe. Which is that Ms. Cream should only appear in good video games. Like Mr. Sonic Dream Team. That is a game where Ms. Cream plays a prominent role in its plot as a major playable character. It is lauded for its great level design and (comparatively, at least) good storytelling. That is a game worthy of Ms. Cream. Ms. Cream should only grace games that are worthy of her pure innocence. Games that give her the respect she deserves.

Oh, Mr. Sparky, I'm very sorry to bother you, but I feel like I have to say something. It feels like there are some misunderstandings about the characters, and I just want to help everyone understand the actual, existing, Sonic the Hedgehog as he is in the video games.
You say Amy is meant to embody love, and that's a very sweet thought. But it feels like we have to ask what kind of love it is. Is it the kind of love that wants to watch someone run free, like the wind? Or is it the kind of love that wants to bind him with a wedding ring, even a very pretty one, to keep them in one place?
It makes me a little sad when people ignore her song, "My Sweet Passion." It's a very pretty song, but the words say, "Come on, settle our lives." That's not something I'm making up, Mr. Sparky. It's right there. It feels like her biggest dream is to stop the adventure and have a quiet life with him. She wants to settle down with him in a cozy, comfortable cottage. It's a cage. A very pretty cage filled with decorations and love. But a cage nonetheless.
That's why it feels like she's an anchor. It's a very pretty anchor made of love, but it's still meant to stop the wind from blowing. It's just a shame, because it feels like her whole world is about changing him, instead of just being his friend on his adventures. Her friendships with Cream and Big are so underdeveloped because her only real goal is to find Sonic and get him to stop running.

I don't think anyone has a "blinding hatred" for a cute cartoon girl. I think... people are just sad that her character only exists to try and tie down the wind. She could be so much more if she wasn't just chasing a dream that would mean Sonic couldn't be himself anymore. I hope you can understand.
