Ammo prices have settled, and new production noncorrosive brass case M67 7.62x39 is only like 8-10 cpr more expensive than 5.56, because the Balkan countries are filling the gap left by Biden's sanctions on Russian ammo. Yes it's not at cheap as it was back in the day, but literally nothing is. Poland, Romania, and Israel are US allies and are not getting sanctioned. The aftermarket is improving to make up for the loss of Russian parts. The only things that really shake up the market every now and again are either Serbia pausing arms exports or the US-based companies like KUSA going tits up. Even Pioneer Arms is back from the dead after it went bankrupt like a year ago. There are more budget options for babby's first AK now than ever.
