There is 'knowing how to program's and then there is having the ability to finish projects. I've worked with a lot of highly capable developers, people who can recite algorithms and APIs by heart, but they can't for the life of them set attainable goals and deadlines unless supported by managers. When Gabe talks about "being more effective" he's talking about the ability to churn out results. Wether or not those results are of good quality, that is completely subjective.

In essence he is correct althoughbeit. Consistency is what wins out in the long run.

Also as a side note; playing games is not in and of itself a bad pastime, It is when you use it as a diversion that it becomes an issue. You should focus on your base needs, eating, sleeping, strengthening, and conditioning first and foremost. If you have extra time after those things you can absolutely enjoy Vidya, but playing Vidya can not come at a cost of your physical or mental health.

Same goes for jacking off; done in moderation it's perfectly fine, but it can't come before your basic needs.

Look, ME 1 is up there as one of my favorite games of all time, but even I can say that it's definitely not Bio's best work.

In terms of writing both Kotor 1 and 2 surpassed ME 1. If we are to be real about it, the pivot to fps action was the beginning of Biowares move from rpg storytelling towards normies slop.

Are they evil because they're ugly or because they are treated poorly?
