>Deepmind's Genie can now turn any picture into 3D explorable, consistent environments
Do you fags even realize you can take all your anime pics and turn them into real worlds? This tech is like a preview to FDVR. It's gonna be pure soul when we get to use our own images.

Anon I'm still too busy jerking off to text generation. Do you know how many acres of forest were put to the torch just tonight to power the infernal forges at Google to make some comedic goblin porn for me? A lot

It's cost prohibitive. Tech companies are bleeding billions on these toys. It will never become cost effective to generate a full length AI media.

Yeah and it'll be cool and fun for the first 5 minutes before the novelty wears off it sounds cool and it is cool but the novelty does wear off I dont need AI games or any of that shit just give me SillyTavern I dont need any of your new shit unless its better models for text generation

How can it be soul if you never made it yourself? Sounds all good and fun until you actually get your hands on it and it doesn't become exciting anymore.

AI generated worlds?! AI generated horrors beyond human comprehension?! uncanny shit with greegbles?!
I can see them being used for dream worlds that don't need specific or realistic details, but I'll take handcrafted human devs any day.

You niggers have been moving the goal post for the last 3 years. First, AI image gen was never possible, never gonna happen. Then, AI video gen wasn't possible. Never gonna happen. Since then we've had all these revolutionary advances in AI generation and multi-modal functionality... but now the goal post is that it will "never" be cost effective. Are you SURE that's your final answer?

The human mind is impure and full of wrongthink. I can never be truly at ease when appreciating human art knowing the drawer might've thought something that should get them canceled. The machine's creation on the other hand is just like nature itself - impartial, indifferent, objective beauty. It's incapable of evil thoughts. Although quality of the works is still a bit lacking right now, you and I both know it will get there eventually.

AI is already outdated. it's only getting harder to train over time and it's always forgetting shit when you extend your projects to things beyond one subject or file. it's all a gimmick.

There is 'knowing how to program's and then there is having the ability to finish projects. I've worked with a lot of highly capable developers, people who can recite algorithms and APIs by heart, but they can't for the life of them set attainable goals and deadlines unless supported by managers. When Gabe talks about "being more effective" he's talking about the ability to churn out results. Wether or not those results are of good quality, that is completely subjective.
