She was pretty bad in the first few episodes since they were all adventure focused episodes, so whenever she showed up, she showed up in a bad mood trying to get AWAY from the adventure as much as she could.
At the time, though, I was a mark for her, because I trusted she'd eventually be roped in. This was back when some people thought the show was going to be an adventure-of-the-week. Now that the show is less about adventures and more about character moments, the "down to earth, slightly edgy voice of reason who's close-minded but friendly" plays a really important role in balancing the cast dynamics. My stocks paid OFF.
