The one thing I don’t understand is, of all the cultures for the Emperor to mimick culturally, why Catholicism? Mentality-wise the Emperor was much more ancient, something more akin to a wrathful Babylonian god, so why ape the religion with Jesus?

While I do like the alt-designs for Gue’vesa, IIRC the Tau literally just give them regular Firewarrior equipment since our proportions are pretty much the same as theirs.
