Even though these dreams respond to what I think about during waking consciousness, I try to let them run their own course because of how organic it all feels.

I feel like intentionally trying to influence my dreams would be something akin to looking a gift horse in the mouth. (That, and it hasn't worked the few times that I've attempted to take the reigns.)
