/v/ - UK bans minors from downloading 18+ Mods

the only people who will care about this in any real capacity are millenials and older who remember what the internet was like before it was like 5 websites. It was hammered into us ANY TIME the the "web" was talked about in school etc that you should NEVER EVER FUCKING EVER use your real name for any reason unless you're shopping on a reputable site. Now people just send their literal ID's in to god fucking knows who.

Ridiculous honestly. I give 4chan maybe 2 months before they have to comply in the UK and the USA, and maybe 1 year before VPNs are banned for personal (non corporate) use.

anons did you know that there are still these things called embedded systems? of course you fucking didn't. You need more than the base functionality required to count 500 poptarts on a conveyor belt

purpose built software for specific hardware that isn't connected to the internet is still a thing. They still make it. YOU as a general consumer likely have little use for it due to their extremely niche uses. You can also still set up any computer you want, shove some OS on it, and never connect it to the internet. WOW!

at this point every single application on your phone is designed to maximize "engagement" and user retention. Every single one. Through
>notifications from every single app (can disable but your average zoomer will not do this)
>pretty colors, stimulating animations, and high refresh rates
>personally tailored skinner box algorithms

they were literally raised by smartphones and ipads. They were designed to be addictive and they literally are addicted. I don't blame them one bit for finding some way to "detox" from it, since their brains have been shaped by it. Life pre and post smartphones was drastically, immensely different. Human brains were not designed to have something that requires your attention at your beck and call at literally all times. There was a study done that measured the blood pressure and heart rate of students with and without their smart phone in the room while they did some random task. Universally, they all showed signs of stress when they weren't allowed access to it.

They're fucked. If it takes being a "consumerist" to break free of this hell, I wish them the best. You weren't labeled a consumerist whore in 2000 for having a
>flip phone (note that texting plans were still expensive and only really being adopted by college kids)
>digital camera
>mp3 player

That was all you needed. Shit has gotten out of hand

do you fucking zoomies remember 9/11, like, at ALL? Do you have any idea the damage that did on the American psyche? We waged two wars for that shit. People argue constantly about truther conspiracies.

It fucked the soul of the country up so hard. Everything happening now is tied directly to it

so this poster here >>715367149 has been spamming this on any thread about this artist, and the video has less than 400 views? And the crush comments started 6 years ago?

I can't tell if this is /tv/ or /mu/ schizoposting and which would be worse.

I'm not unfamiliar with Retroarch's menus. The issue is that it's a fucking russian nesting doll which has some weirdly arbitrary organization and configuration is absolutely something that should have both a suitable desktop UI. It doesn't mean you can't have alongside a UI that you can navigate with a controller.

The unfortunate part is that RA has been coopted by handheld manufacturers as a default way of doing things, so they have a massive android focus for development. The core system, while generally a good thing, leaves a lot to be desired with respect to some features that their standalone nightlies tend to have.

Emulation as a whole is fucking obnoxious to navigate if you ever expect to have a one stop shop. The best thing RA is for is fucking around with filters and low latency, otherwise you're honestly almost better suited with setting up some steam shortcuts or using some other aggregator.
