People just assumed it must be this year based on nothing and got so far in their heads that it was true they cant accept reality that it most likely isnt.
If you try to look at the timeline from switch 2 launch to the end of the year, plot the games we know about, then fill in the blanks with the games confirmed for 2025, it seems pretty stacked with a major game each month more or less.
there is a chance it comes out 2025, sure, but theres also an equal if not greater chance its 2026. if it was coming this year, would they not have said "coming this holiday" or whatever? would they not have put it in the direct?
Thematically it would fit a spring or summer launch anyway.
Considering how badly S3 was cut up and fell short of its concept art and expectations / potential, I dont know why people want it rushed out the door.
