I'm convinced that only midwits would be affected by a bank run. Due to credit existing and one-day settlement times on brokerage sales, i can't imagine why anyone would bother holding cash for any reason. All of your money should be in good companies and treasuries (long duration for inverse correlation to equities, short duration for general use funds)

Depositing cash in a bank has to be the dumbest shit possible. It instantly gets stolen and funneled into a MMF or something while all you get is an IOU that crumbles into dust if the banking system shits itself.
