Because the UK is owned by big business. Mostly "American" big business though there's certainly other foreign entities. When you see that American tech companies like Amazon get away with borderline treason you just have to ask the question "Why?" and everything makes sense. The British government is not for the people and never has been. We've always been a class-based society and the British working class exist only to serve their superiors. The Empire was built solely to benefit the upper-classes and nouveau riche. It's never changed. The Victorian times never ended. 99% of the British population got nothing out of the Empire and yet we are taught in schools to feel guilty about it, even though our ancestors at the time were barely scraping by and losing their fingers in factories. Again you only need to ask the question "Why?" as tens of thousands of third world immigrants flood the borders every single day. England died in 1066 when its true native rulers were taken over by, ironically, foreigners.
