The idea behind the galatic war could be very engaging IF they gave the playerbase actual agency to do shit. Instead, the Swiggers handled it in the most retarded way possible:
> more active players lower your individual contribution, basically hardcapping how much the playerbase can do per hour
> players who don't to partake in the current mission goals thus sabotage the rest of the playbase who want to reach the goals
> many mission goals are railroaded into the desired outcome of the devs, with some being basically impossible
> Joel has to constantly fuck with the settings if something doesn't go as the devs had wished
Instead of proper planning where goals are set and the playerbase is allowed to do its thing, we get half-baked ideas with unfinished content that had zero QC and are bugged to hell and back.
The Siege of Super Earth is a prime example of that. Defending the cities didn't mean jackshit since the devs had planned their boring showdown in Super Stockholm until the Chinks went out of their way to defend Super Shanghai. Only after the Chinks started reviewbombing the game for Joel's stupid fuckery, the devs bent the knee and let the playerbase change the outcome.
