What dose it mean when people just stop playing the game then? Or stop using certain parts in game.
It's pretty oblivious what issues are. You don't need to survey whole playerbase to see them.
But seeing that would require you to play your own game and observe behaviour of playerbase and watch when they stop playing.

Loved it when I had fun with it. The concept of Helldivers is epic and has the potential to be a major gaming flagship. However it is woefully narrow in scope, pigeonholed into this one little window of gameplay that gets stale. That's how it goes with most games. I'm just saying if it's going to be live service then the scope of it all should be vastly wider, a much much bigger game. There is a ton of potential that is totally unrealized in my opinion. Maybe they will figure it out in Helldivers 3.

>The concept of Helldivers is epic and has the potential to be a major gaming flagship.

The idea behind the galatic war could be very engaging IF they gave the playerbase actual agency to do shit. Instead, the Swiggers handled it in the most retarded way possible:

> more active players lower your individual contribution, basically hardcapping how much the playerbase can do per hour
> players who don't to partake in the current mission goals thus sabotage the rest of the playbase who want to reach the goals
> many mission goals are railroaded into the desired outcome of the devs, with some being basically impossible
> Joel has to constantly fuck with the settings if something doesn't go as the devs had wished

Instead of proper planning where goals are set and the playerbase is allowed to do its thing, we get half-baked ideas with unfinished content that had zero QC and are bugged to hell and back.

The Siege of Super Earth is a prime example of that. Defending the cities didn't mean jackshit since the devs had planned their boring showdown in Super Stockholm until the Chinks went out of their way to defend Super Shanghai. Only after the Chinks started reviewbombing the game for Joel's stupid fuckery, the devs bent the knee and let the playerbase change the outcome.

Those two things go hand in hand with each other. The cap on progession/hour makes it very hard for player agency to actually matter. There's very little chance for natural clutch comebacks or fun shitstomps where the playerbase comes together to get shit done because it doesn't matter much if it's 10k or 200k players doing the missions. And that's why it requires Joel's constant fuckery.

Blame it on the devs and their lack of vision to let the playerbase shape the galactic war.

What's wrong with that? You can't expect everyone to be liking and subscribing on every rolling patch update to gauge feedback. Naturally those with nothing better to do will a find a reason to bitch but there will always be a sizable, silent majority that does their thing before moving on. If you aren't playing your own game let alone using multple vectors to work out if stuff is working correctly that's on you. Hire a few brand simps, actually have your company mandated tard wranglers do their job like Reb Ford does or look at the metrics that you should be inundated with by now.

Warframe did a survey earlier this year. One of the sillier things that is getting attention? Modding your weapons. It's getting a whole tutorial mission added to educate players on modding.

If you don't play Warframe, here's why that's silly. Here's a weapon mod. Most are like this. Elemental damage, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Fire Rate? Almost none of the mods have weird effects until you get into the later game with Galvanized Mods which are meant to fill a weird gap that had Melee weapons being vastly superior to your guns, but they're just "+Damage (Smaller number), +More Damage On Kill For X time (Stacks to much bigger number)"

>I need to consult a wiki for these complex and obtuse systems.

Honestly, that's the best way to go about it. The wiki explains a lot of weird interactions that game does nothing to explain.

Like this. Unlike Elements, Physical Damage (Impact, Puncture, Slash) mods do not add that damage type, only enhances the existing damage. Say you put this Puncture Damage mod on a Hammer that deals purely Impact damage, it will do NOTHING. Now the game doesn't say that, but when you put this one your weapon, you'll notice in the stat display, there is no change to the damage, damage types, or total damage, and you could infer that, but it is one of the things that isn't quite clear and could probably use an explanation.

Or just revise it to function like an Element and add the damage type.

They were still doing this before the internet, they just went on tv and radio, and before that they were journalists publishing magazine and newspaper articles, and before that they'd usually worm their way into government and religion. A small percentage of the human race are born zealots, what they get zealous about is largely inconsequential, what's important is that something goes wrong in the brain and they become dangerously obsessive about something or other.
