The fact that they decided to keep Shadowlands in canon should be a bright red flag signalling you to completely disregard the story. Regardless of whatever they invent, the existence of concrete afterlife realm the players can walk through at any point and actually influence the happenings there will keep fucking the story from completely unexpected angles. At least they had the sense to act as if WoD was a unique exception to time travel and thus self-contained timeline pocket or whatever. Even if hired good writers and gave them free reign they'd first need ot unfuck Shadowlands and everything that was built on it which at this point is 5 years of storytelling lmao.
