The national channels in my country suck ass, nothing interesting so I always stayed away from TV, but when I first got the cable service I currently have I had a big eye opening moment in discovering all the fun channels from several countries that weren't normally included in the average provider services I had previous experience with. It's what makes TV worth it for me.

There is nothing wrong with blocking people who's existence bothers you for whatever reason (granted this one just seems to be 'block anyone who ships x or y)', just like how you can use 4chanx to filter anything you don't like.
