>I was having lunch with a friend
>Out of nowhere, a thought popped in my head. What if I shot him in the head right there in the restaurant? What would happen next?

Average american intrusive thought.

To be your friend is fatal.

America promised to back up Ukraine in case of a Russian invasion when it denuclearized with the Budapest Memorandum in 1994. If it hadn't denuclearized (based on American promises of protection), Ukraine would've never been invaded in the first place.

Is he forgetting the entire reason that Ukraine got invaded in the first place is because it signed the Budapest Memorandum in 1994 based on U.S. assurances we'd back it up in case of a Russian invasion after they denuclearized?

Exactly. This is just ridiculous. You have financed these kurds for decades to be your politically correct Syria / Iraq. Then you negotiated so they beat Assad's regime, and let Israel occupy the Golam heights. Now you just rugpull them, let these people wage more ten years of war against everyone and die.

US foreign politics needs some humanization. Either be the world police or not be. This whole rugpulling attitude to diplomacy where you prop up people and just let them fall immediately.

I always knew the kurds would get the same treatment as literally everybody else.

In other news, your other 'ally' will also get fucked this week. But at least no one will feel bad about this rat at all.
UKRAINE BLACKPILL
As harsh as it is to say, this war is all Ukraine's fault for trusting America in the first place to back it up in case of invasion after denuclearizing with the Budapest Memorandum. A cursory glance through any history textbook should tell you that we're not to be trusted.

We do have a bad track record as far as "not abandoning the leaders we initially prop up in conflicts that don't go our way."
