We Americans like cheap so we can buy moar. But, let's not pretend that it's any different in Europe. I love those fine old handmade guns from the great old makers like Le Page, Manton, Gastinne-Renette, Westley Richards, Kreighoff, etc. However, those are not everyman guns. Just as how the average American has something soulless like a glock or PSA AR, even the the golden days of handmade Euro quality the average person was walking around with a shitty Belgian or Spanish knockoff of a British or French design. The average gun of that era was much crappier than the average modern polymerslop.
