I was playing the new Space Adventure Cobra game. It's basically Metroid Dread if it was a linear shooter platformer instead of a Metroidvania-em-up. Which is apt considering how much Samus Metroid herself is just female Cobra, a blonde bounty hunter clad in (usually) reddish armor with an iconic arm cannon of her own, so turnabout is fairplay.
But the opening level playing through Cobra's prologue and the back-and-forth between Cobra and Lady(I wonder where Metroid got that nickname from) just reaffirms the fact that Samus needs a consistent secondary female presence in her games to bounce dialogue off of instead of boring AI and aloof alien semi-deities.
