Demons in KnY are humans who were infected and lost their mind. Only 3 cases of demons mantaining a semblance of humanity exist, and in the case of his sister, she was VERY close to becoming a raging animal more than once.
All of them used to have normal lives before, some of them straight up go to heaven after death because if they only committed their crimes after being turned, they cannot be held responsible for their actions.
If they could be healed easily, it would be worth trying to save them all


Frieren demons are predators. They have no relation to humans beyond humans being their prey. They are born evil and will die evil, everything they do is for a nefarious goal. They feign being reasonable or defensless merely for survival, but they are an invasive dangerous species that cannot be redeemed.

So of course, the two protagonists treat them differently.

Yes, because the series isn't about that.
It would be pointless to have a great demonic plot that makes moral sense to make a point about prejudice or whatever, because that's completely irrelevant to what the series is about.
Demons don't need to be anything more than obstacles to showcase character growth and add a little spice, the point of the series is about the little things, several scenes literally spell this out to the audience and yet retards are still discussing demons as if they were of any importance.
