I just noticed this with the Nana joke at the very start. I feel like it would be obvious to smash cut to her humping her leg right after "I think he likes you nana" and something else like "welcome to the family" with the 2 years later text right below him humping. Instead we have to see a transition to the text by itself, a shot of the house, then inside the house, and then him humping her leg. It's like timing 101, Genndy should know this
