Honestly this scene confuses me. It feels as if it's written to portray the "non-binary" as being in the wrong, with her (it?) acting like a confused and troubled teenage girl that creates problems out of nothing and will take offence regardless of how gentle or understanding you try to be.
Like it really captures the stereotype for the kind of pain in the ass loser teen that parents feel like they have to walk on eggshells around because any idiot can abruptly claim victim status and expect to be catered to.
Like, was it really not supposed to come off that way? I'm having a hard time understanding how the developers, writers, even the voice actors could look at that scene and not see it as being critical (or even a parody) of that kind of person.
