I gave this a quick bit of thinking and I had a small epiphany; Wilds doesn't even have a finished fucking High Rank Village questline. World did, and it got 5 title updates on top of what was already there. In Wilds, we were left with less than 1 1/2 of the base game finished. Frenzied monsters + Gore being reintroduced felt more like a random footnote that hasn't ever been brought up again before it just abruptly ended. Like what the fuck? On top of the shitty performance and the milquetoast plot, the base game isn't even fucking finished. This explains I haven't bothered to returning to Wilds even after Lagiacrus and Seregios got added. Capcom got cocky and it's backfiring on them now. As a MH Fan I actually regret buying Wilds now because this is just sad.

If I try to join a lobby on Monster Hunter Rise, I end up joining the lobby alone for some reason, after some minutes I get communication error and get kicked. I can't join my friend's lobby, he can join mine but gets disconnected after some minutes. However, if I use a VPN he can join my lobby and we can play, but I still can't join his lobby or others.

All I can do as a Monster Hunter fan for 21 years is hope that they learn from this mistake and deliver on the expansion in ways that make up for this abysmal launch and subsequent months. I actually think it's good they moved away from Elder Dragons, EDs should be big fucking deals, they should be given respect and lots of work to make them as impressive as they deserve to be, they should be the hardest monsters and should be mostly endgame threats, I like the idea of them only existing in Master rank or very late into High Rank.

Apex monsters like Rey Dau and Lagiacrus and Deviljho and such should be fun enough and challenging enough to fight to serve as entertaining mid game to endgame threats specially if we're talking stronger versions.

MHWilds has insane monster variety and fighting all the monsters should be fun, we shouldn't be impatient for EDs at all, the probblem is that in Wilds the monsters are such a fucking joke that it's only mildly fun to fight against the same 4 endgame threats that are the most overtuned because otherwise it's a fucking slog, when was the last time anyone here fought Doshaguma for fun? Or Odogaron? Fucking no one, the only monsters that are fuun to fight are the high strength level apex monsters and people are hungry to have more endgame fights so that's why they are craving elder dragons, when in reality, this craving wouldn't exist in the first place if more monsters that are already in the game were fun to fight.

The only way the MHWilds expansions fixes anything is if the expansions is about some fucking crazy cataclysm or something that makes the forbidden lands more "wild" and dangerous so they are free to implement some friction and take out some of those bullshit quality of life mechanics using "survival" as an excuse or whatever.
