Yes and no. If you dive in the exact moment he belly-slams, you almost never die. And since we are talking about getting damage, don't dive the acid attack: pre-stim and tank it. For some reason you even take less damage from acid if you don't dive.
Personally i use the medic medium armour + the fent stim piss booster, so i spam stims every time and it works wonders against it.
