Maybe with yours but I had to set up my grand parents smart once TV and it basically required me to connect it to the Internet and sign up for shit I didn't want with no skip options so I ended up making a throwaway email for that AND it required a 40min firmware update in order to stop having weird graphically errors like constantly flipping sideways as though it was a vertical monitor or having only a small corner of the display actually showing video output. Very tedious and I hated the whole experience till the end.
I think it was a Sony, they should just stick to making audio equipment instead honestly... Or maybe it was a Samsung? I dunno my memory is fuzzy on the details, probably my brain trying to block out the trauma of installing that damn thing.

^ Not a problem with my monitor BUT that's not always an option. Reply above related.
