I mean, it's fairly clear from your screen grab—people are paying them for high-quality porn animations, not for whatever lore and background they are conjuring up in addition. If they vomited out plot and character building on an audience expecting pure giantess smut, they would slowly lose their paying audience.

Why do we hate his OC's so much? Legit like 90% of size art I see is OC's, and it doesn't stop it from being hot. All 3d and 2d artists post pretty much exclusively OC's, be it commissioned or self made ones, Lajest isn't really unique in that respect.
The alternative for 3d artists is just doing endless Overwatch or FOTM stuff which kinda gets stale after a while. 3d artists with self-made assets (that are worth a damn anyway) rarely do commissions at all, so that's pretty much the only alternative.
