You people are delusional if you think there's a functional difference between Amy and Sally in regards to Sonic.
Yeah, Sally's a princess, a leader, a tactician.
So what? At the end of the day, her narrative purpose is exactly the same as Amy's. An anchor for the wind.
One wants to tie him down with a wedding ring and nagging, the other wants to tie him down with duty and responsibility.
Both want him to stop being Sonic.

It's the same trash dynamic. Forcing Sonic into OOC romance garbage and making him accountable to someone else's desires instead of his own.
It's a fundamental misunderstanding of his character. He's a force of nature who helps people because he can, not because he's leashed to a princess or a pink stalker.

At least Sally's an actual character who leads a resistance instead of just being a slut for hedgehog cock. It's the same trash dynamic, just one is slightly less pathetic and more conductive to action-adventure stories.
It's why IDW ripped off Sally to make Amy a more interesting character. Resistance fighter Sonic is the only way to do an 'anchor to the wind' that isn't just fucking shipping garbage.
