No shit, dude. They were pedophiles. Back then there was no distinction between lolicon and pedo. One of the older loli memes (salty coins and milk) was taken from a fan translation of an infamous loli doujin (pomf) which in turn was a reference to one of the more notorious hardcore CP videos that would get regularly posted /b/ and /l/ (which I will not expound on).
